Hi! I'm Cresenda! My husband and I have two boys - 15 and 13. We have lived in the Treasure Valley (Payette County, Idaho) for over 18 years. We both grew up in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Bonners Ferry is nestled in the Kootenai Valley between three different mountain ranges in North Idaho, and is only thirty miles from Canada.
I have taught preschool and Kindergarten in a private Christian school in North Idaho, and more recently was a Head Teacher for Head Start in Ontario, Oregon. For the past ten years I have worked and volunteered in public education as a substitute school nurse and teacher, kitchen staff, and worked as a Special Education aide. Before moving to the Treasure Valley, I spent a year in London, England, as a member of a discipleship training program. Our team learned leadership skills through practical experience leading clubs for children, teens, young adults and seniors; performing street drama; community service projects; and much more! We also went into the public schools and taught the Bible portion of the required Religious Education classes.
While subbing for a week in a 5th grade class, with a reputation of being the worst in that school, I realized that I really did enjoy teaching. I earned my Elementary Education certification through the ABCTE (The American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence) in 2014. I also have a B.S. in Business Administration. Returning to private education and joining the St. Peter Catholic School community is very exciting! I believe God has directed my steps to be at St. Peter Catholic School.
Staying healthy, exercising, being outdoors, reading, Plein air painting, and Jeeping are a few of my favorite activities. Going for drives in my Jeep Wrangler is one way I enjoy the beautiful scenery of southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon and find new landscapes to paint.
