"Excellence is What St. Peter is All About"
|

St. Peter School is a Roman Catholic School which nurtures and
challenges children to grow toward maturity of faith through a loving
concerned environment; a school which bases its curriculum on Gospel
principles related to life experiences resulting in a strong academic
program. This total experience prepares students to join teachers, parish
priests, and builders of a faith community in the name of Jesus, Lord and
Redeemer.
Our goals are to provide a quality Christian education, responsible for
the development of the whole person; spiritually, emotionally,
intellectually and physically.
We will endeavor to develop in each individual an awareness of the
worth of oneself and others:
- by developing each individuals awareness of their full potential
- by familiarizing the students with their community
- by educating through truth and justice
- by giving opportunities for leadership
- by developing faith in the goodness of God and humanity
- by developing self-control in each student and the value of it.
Faith community is lived out each day at school as the students
experience and participate in prayer, sacrament, service, fair play, and
academic activities in which the student is encouraged to strive for
excellence, that is, to do the very best he/she is capable of achieving.
The complete and varied curriculum offered at St. Peter School is under
the supervision of the State of Oregon. All credits received at St. Peter
School are accepted by all public school districts. St. Peter is a State
approved school. All teachers have Oregon Certification.
The basic curriculum includes Religion, English (Grammar, Literature,
and Composition.) Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Phonics, Spelling,
Social Studies, Science, Art, Music, Computers, and Physical Education.
Class sizes are small (15-20).
Pre-registration for all classes, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6, takes
place in the spring. Priority is given to those families who already have
students attending St. Peter School and those who are members of
Blessed Sacrament Parish or neighboring Catholic parishes. Other new
students are accepted on a space-available basis throughout the year.
St. Peter School maintains a very generous scholarship program, funded
in part through contributions from Catholic parish organizations in our
area. No student is denied entrance to St. Peter School for financial
reasons.
