1) The Board will make all decisions based on the benefits to the students and families of our school.
a) Number One priority will be given to insure that St. Peter School remains fiscally sound and does not
reach into the Foundation Fund to the “shut down” level of expenditure.
2) The Board will make fiscal decisions based on the value of St. Peter School to our community and will not in
any way jeopardize the future of our school through fiscal decisions.
1. Insure that St. Peter remains open.
2. Work toward meeting diocesan goal of teacher compensation of at least 80% of public school
rate.
3. Maintain class size as specified:
· K4, K5 1st Grade – 20 students or less
· 2nd and 3rd Grade – 25 students or less in single grade; 20 students or less in a
combination classroom
· 4th Grade and above – 27 or less students in a single grade; 25 students or less in a
combination classroom
b) Continue efforts to keep tuition costs reasonable.
3) The Board will do all that it reasonably can to serve all students and families that have an interest in being a
partner in the educational process offered by St. Peter School.
a) However, the Board will not support accommodating one or more students when such accommodation
may jeopardize the values and goals of St. Peter School.
4) The Board will hold the Principal accountable to the moral, spiritual, ethical and fiscal goals of the Board.
a) The Board will gather information in preparation for evaluation of the Principal in January.
b) The Principal evaluation will be completed by March 30th and the Principal notified of the Board’s desire
to offer a new contract or not.
5) The Board will actively support the St. Peter School mission and vision while serving in their official capacity.
a) All St. Peter Board members will be ambassadors of St. Peter at all school and church related
activities. When contacted outside of school, Board Members will channel parent or other concerns to the
Principal. Board members will speak of St. Peter Catholic School in a positive manner, or refer criticisms to
the Principal or a fellow board member if there is a conflict in a specific area.
6) The Board will encourage expansion of our school mission/vision to neighboring parishes.
a) The Board will support efforts of our Pastor, Principal and other Board Members as they promote St.
Peter School to neighboring communities.
7) The Board will remain open to the idea of expanding the educational offerings of St. Peter School when such a
decision is sound fiscally and the program can be delivered.
a) Any expansion of St. Peter School programs, either in the form of additional grade levels served, or
additional curriculum offerings, said decisions would be dependent on meeting the fiscal goals stated
previously.
8) The Board will communicate the successes and challenges of St. Peter School to the communities that
support our school through regular attendance of students.
a) The Board will develop a Public Relations Plan that facilitates communication of all aspects of our
school program.
9) The Board will like in accordance with Catholic values and teachings.
The Board of St. Peter School believes in the value of our school as a preferred educational experience for our children when compared to Public School and the other Private School Alternatives. We believe that St. Peter prepares our children to live productive lives as Catholics. We believe that St. Peter also prepares our children, as well or better than other schools, to live productive lives as Americans and as local citizens of our communities. Based on these beliefs, we adopt the following goals.
